Dental X-rays are a useful diagnostic tool to help evaluate & detect damage and disease not visible during a regular dental exam.
Digital X-rays are one of the advanced diagnostic tools that we use to provide high-quality care for our patients. They are more efficient and use considerably less radiation than conventional film X-rays. Digital X-rays allow us to better evaluate & diagnose dental problems such as:
- Tooth decay
- Fractures in existing dental fillings
- Poor positioning of the tooth/root
- Bone loss
In addition to this, with the help of digital X-rays, treatment plans can be made when oral surgery, orthodontic treatment and/or root canal treatment are required.
After explaining & demonstrating the procedure to you and your child, a staff member will gently insert an X-ray sensor into your child’s mouth. This sensor captures images of your child’s teeth and the images are then evaluated by the dentist.
